WiFi Watch – A Cheap Hotspot Finder

I have a constant need to go online. It’s part of my job to be constantly be online so that I can work because the internet is an integral part of what I do. That’s why even when I have a need to go on errands I always look for WiFi hotspots so I can check my email or do some research. Previously, looking for a hotspot can be a bother because you’ll have to whip out your laptop and turn it on to find out if there’s a signal. When I got my WiFi enabled phone, I used it to check for WiFi signals but it often drains the power of my phone’s battery, which is no good especially if I have plans of being in transit all day.
That’s why a gadget like the WiFi watch is a great thing to have if you’re like me – constantly searching for a good hotspot. The WiFi Watch will easily detect the best WiFi signal within the area without you have to walk around and pointing a device in the air like a crazy, homeless man.

The watch possesses a scaled strength indicator that’s indicated from 0 to 8. You can easily find out where the best signal is without having to wave around your laptop. You’ll even look cool doing it because women will think you’re some secret agent trying to get some secret communiqué through your watch. You’ll never leave home without this watch.

This sounds excellent. I too need to be continuously connected (causing my man lots of anguish) so this little gizmo would be ideal for me. It will be on my Christmas list if I haven’t bought one myself by then.

Today, I had an appraisal meeting with the Boss. She raved and gushed and told me what a great job I was doing. Then she said “Well done, Eric”. Eric is not my name. She froze, opened a new file and told me my actual appraisal, which was the complete opposite of everything she had just said. FML

Hi, Nice post! Look at this cool innovation http://mikeg.typepad.com/perceptions/2009/01/facebook-and-powercom-its-about-honoring-mutual-relationship-rights.html – Raja Kay
Eh…it would be better if this watch weren’t so ugly and plain looking.
This is a pretty handy device, but I agree with the previous poster, it is very unattractive and plain. Perhaps if it catches on they can make more colors and styles.

The point of the watch isn’t to be beautiful. It’s functional. It’s kind of like those old calculator watches from the 80s! They weren’t beautiful, but they were great to have and handy to use if you needed to do some calculations. It’s all about functionality with this watch too!
