It does not take a rocket scientist to figure out that Wiinoma is some new development for the most popular console to grace the Earth – the Wii. Alright, that last bit is my own opinion (although it is backed up by statistics) but we all know that the Wii has outsold the two other major gaming consoles.

Anyhow, Nintendo is working on a new channel for the Wii. In spite of the fact that this console has attained astronomical successes in many various aspects, Nintendo does not seem content to just sit back and relax. Instead, they are adding a TV channel to the Wii, in an effort to continue propelling it to unparalleled heights.

The Wiinoma, as they have dubbed the TV channel, will be featuring various programmes on demand. The idea is for the programmes to be related to the games that users can play on the Wii. This means the likes of quizzes, cartoons, education, and lifestyle programmes. The shows will be received by the Wii over the Internet through streaming – much like the rest of the content that Wii users are accessing day in and day out.

The good thing is that most of the programmes are said to be available for FREE! That means that you can watch all you want, when you want, without having to pay a single coin. However, we also know what this means – lots and lots of ads within the content. I don’t think that that is such a bad bargain, do you?

Those in Japan can expect Wiinoma to be online in spring while the rest of us have to wait for a bit more to get our hands on it.

Fake Nintendo Wii consoles have been uncovered a little closer to home ready for the Christmas season.

Police in Northern Ireland uncovered several counterfeit consoles whilst searching a car in the New Lodge Road area of Belfast.

No details about what exactly they were found in place of a real Nintendo Wii – but it’s worth keeping in mind that the best place to buy a console this Christmas is from a reputable store rather than the con-merchants sharking around eBay and Gumtree this Christmas shopping season.
