iLogic Sound Hats

I’m not sure about everyone else but for me, winter weather and ipod earphones don’t go so well together. Fortunately for me the iLogic Sound Hats add some warmth to the situation. I often found myself taking a couple of seconds to summon the courage to pop my earphones in thanks to winter freezes. The great thing about this hat/headphone combination is that they don’t only make this scenario less tricky, but they also keep the earmuffs at bay.
The iLogic Sound Hats allow you to plug your iPod or other portable media device directly into integrated speakers inside of the hat’s surface with a standard 3.5mm headphone port connected to a 98cm wire which is easily tucked away into the hat’s inner lining. The beanie itself has a fleecy feel on its interior, despite the hat’s composition of 100% polyester.
iPod Alarm Clock
Quirky alarm clocks are all the rage at the minute, and this iPod Alarm Clock is no different. It is retro in design and looks exactly like one of those ancient beasts with the big bells stuck to the side. That must be why this iPod alarm is now one of the most popular and desired in the UK. It could also be down to that fact that it is available for the cheap price of £39.95 (lowest in the UK), and has FREE DELIVERY.
We all hate getting out of bed. Sleeping rocks. So wouldn’t it be good if waking up rocked as well? It does if you’ve got a Retro iPod Alarm Clock on your bedside table. This sleek dock/speaker system/waker-upper looks like a modern take on those twin-belled alarm clocks of yesteryear. You know, the ones that shook your fillings out every time the hammer started dinga-linging on the bells.
This stylish bit of kit is powered via an AC adaptor, so it charges your iPod as you sleep. It even tells your iPod to switch to clock mode the second you pop it in. What’s more, the great sounding speakers allow you to listen to your iPod in bed without earphones (which, let’s face it, are joke uncomfortable, especially if you’re lying on your side).
With Christmas around the corner it would be sensible to buy one of these asap to take advantage of the sale prices.

New iPod Touch & Nano – Details Leaked
Isn’t it great when exclusive product details leak before the manufacturer is ready? Well I doubt Apple will being sharing my point of view this week as exclusive details of the new iPod Touch and Nano have made it in to the mainstream.
Plans for the next–gen iPod touch and iPod nano have been rumoured for a few weeks now. But the latest batch of shots of new cases from China throw up some interesting tidbits about Apple’s latest efforts, due for an official airing in September.
Unlike the iPhone varient of the marque, the new Touch seems to have a camera placed right in the middle of its rear (no offcentre) but one thing we are eager to know is whether it will be better than the standard 3.2 megapixel supplied on the iphone. It could cause an uproar similar to the 3G/3GS debate if it does.
As for the new iPod nano, the body remains much the same, with the screen getting slightly wider and a camera shoved in the corner. That means you’ll hold it like a conventional compact to take pics.

iPod Party Speaker lets you party on the go

If you’re a party animal who just cant bear the thought of not attending any kind of party even if it’s for children (I kid, I kid) then you should have the necessary accoutrements that will allow you to start your own parties whenever and wherever you want….the iPod Party Speaker.
Available at the cheapest price from Iwantoneofthose.com
For the serious patrtyphile the iPod Party Speaker should be considered as standard issue equipment and an important weapon in your party arsenal. The iPod Party Speaker is a mobile party system that will beat all other usurpers to the throne. This party animal is made from heavy duty aluminum and is mounted on a two wheeled base that is also equipped with a retractable handle. This mobile speaker system has 22 watts of power that is enough to power the most frenetic parties. Using this party system is not a problem. It has a mains cable that you can plug to the nearest socket for non stop entertainment and partying. But if there’s no electricity to be found (say, you start a party in the forest) then the internal rechargeable battery kicks in. The juice is enough for 12 non stop hours of music. You can plug your iPod directly into the system, but not only that, you can also plug in other CD or MP3 players, even musical instruments. The iPod Party Speaker also comes with a microphone so you can really live the role of the DJ in your party. You can even turn it into a karaoke machine if you want.
Convenient in-car control for your iPod
January 22, 2009 by robotics

I love playing my favorite songs inside my car. After braving through college commuting everyday and being forced to the whole spectrum of bad music that drifts to your ears during the long ride to and from school, I vowed to myself that once I get my first car I’ll play all the songs that I love with total abandon. And that was what I precisely did. I have come to associate driving with playing the best music I can find. Of course, I do this with a constant regard for driver and pedestrian safety.
The advent of the iPod made listening to music so much easier, and in the car, it meant a faster selection of the songs you want to listen to. I’ve easily loaded a 60GB iPod and I barely even touched my CD collection. One problem I’ve noticed with iPod selection though is that it’s kind of hard to select your tunes while also driving. I drive a manual, to give you a proper perspective why I find it hard to rotate and click while keeping my eye on the road and then shifting gears.
Since I don’t have the money to upgrade to a car with built in iPod controls, the next best thing would be Griffin’s solution — a new in-car gadget that can be attached to the iPod or iPhone. The great thing about this new solution, called the TuneFlex (http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/tuneflex-aux-with-smartclick), is that it allows you to manipulate and access your songs without even taking your eyes off the road and your hands off the steering wheel a majority of the time.
The whole package contains a SmartCLick remote that you fit onto the steering wheel. The mount has a magnet where you can put the remote and also remove it when you want. There’s a cigarette lighter adapter to charge the iPod, a slim steel neck to hold the iPod, and a stereo mini cable for attaching the iPod to your car stereo’s aux-in jack.
Projected price for the TuneFlex is from £70-80, which I think is a good enough price for the ability to have your own in-car iPod remote control.
“Orb” up your room with these iPod speakers

If there’s one thing I can say about the Apple design aesthetic is that whenever they come out with anything – be it a computer, laptop, or personal entertainment device – you get the insane longing to buy one for yourself the moment you lay your eyes on it. The “must-have” quality of these Apple products can really hurt your wallet if you are not too careful.
Unfortunately, even third party manufacturers are beginning to understand that what Apple does can really drive sales. It’s the reason why most third party Apple accessories are becoming more and more attractive too. It has come to a point that you’ll also want to get these accessories for your Apple gadgets.
For example, there the mStation 2.1 Stereo Orb – an iPod speaker/dock that is just beautiful in its simplicity. The Orb is a relatively big sphere that measures 8 inches in diameter. The small footprint means you can put it anywhere in your room or office. It weighs just 4 pounds, so it can be easily carried and moved about. The iPod (whether Video or Nano) is placed at the top of the dock and a panel at the top can also be removed as way to increase its compatibility with older iPod models.
The great thing about the Orb is that it just doesn’t act as speakers or a dock for your iPod, you can also connect it to your computer and sync your iPod with iTunes. The Orb comes in various colours that will complement the design of your room or office.
You can order the Orb directly at the mStation (http://www.mstation.com/) site.
12 Days Of Freebies From Apple

On the 1st day of Christmas, my true love gave to me…a concert clip of my favourite artist.
On the 2nd day of Christmas, my true love gave to me…a live rendition of my favourite song.
On the 3rd day of Christmas, my true love gave to me…an episode of my favourite TV show…
You may very well be singing such a tune come the 26th of December when – are you ready for this? – Apple launches its 12 Days of Christmas free download promo! Yup, you read that right. The mega-company is giving away downloadable content through its iTunes store in the UK starting 26th December until 6th January. That’s a whole 12 days of free downloads from this ubiquitous store!
The news about the 12 Days of Christmas promo from Apple has been circulating for a few weeks now but nothing had been confirmed for the UK until last weekend. Naturally, the news has been received with much pleasure. Who wouldn’t want to get FREE downloadable content from iTunes? I know I would!
So what will be available for free downloading during the 12 Days of (an Apple) Christmas? Sad to say, we will not be downloading albums and movies. According to Apple, they are offering live tracks (exclusives!), rare singles, and classic TV episodes. The rationale behind the promo – aside from getting more people to use iTunes and hopefully buy content in the future (yeah I know that’s not a very Christmasy thought) – is for people to get a jump-start on their new iPods, which they might get as Christmas presents.
Well, it’s free so I’m all for it!
Turn Your iPod Touch Into An iPhone

I am a bit behind in the game. A year or so has passed (I think) since the iPhone hit the stores. To date, I still have not gotten my hands on one. Oh I have played with this baby lovingly but I don’t have one to call my own. I was actually thinking of getting myself the iPhone as a Christmas present. I have had my doubts, to be honest. I have a perfectly good phone and I don’t need a new one. But hey, it’s an iPhone! End of the discussion.
Then I heard of a freeware application that can turn an iPod Touch into a lean mean calling machine. Yep, you read that right. The iPod Touch, which basically does everything that the iPhone does – except for the phone part – can soon be used to make phone calls via VOIP.
This is what Truphone is currently working on. According to Geraldine Wilson, the CEO of Truphone, they are going to roll out a “slew of new features for the iPod Touch that will let users call landlines, Skype users or send instant messages. We’re talking weeks, not months, before these go live.” Can you see the big smile breaking out on my face? Can you feel my heart pounding with excitement?
The iPod Touch is cheaper by far than the iPhone. I won’t be saddled with lock in periods with a mobile carrier. True, it still won’t be an iPhone BUT it is an iPod Touch and that counts for something, doesn’t it?
iWake Classic Style

While we’re on the topic of iPods, I thought I’d feature another accessory for this wonderful invention. Seriously, I think that one of the best – if not the best – measures of a gadget’s popularity is when other gadgets that serve as accessories crop up all over the place. And that is exactly what has happened to the iPod.
Remember the alarm clock that you used to have when you were a kid? The classic style – round with two knobs on top? That image holds fond memories for many of us today. With all the different kinds of alarm clocks you can find today, it is quite refreshing to see a modern gadget in the old style. And that is what the iPod alarm clock is.
It actually serves as a dock for any iPod. Shaped just like the alarm clock of old, there is a space in the middle for an iPod. You can then lie in your bed (or anywhere for that matter) at night (or anytime of the day if you wish), set the alarm, listen to Brahms Lullaby, and wake up to the sound of whatever song tickles your fancy.
The thing that I like about this alarm clock-iPod dock is that the space is adjustable such that it can accommodate even the dinosaur iPods. So if you have the older generation ones, there is no need to worry about the clock not being compatible!
Saving the best for last…how much is this going to cost you? A nice £39.10 at Paramount Zone. As of today, though, they say they’re out of stock.
uCan Drink With The iBreath

Anything with the small “i” at the beginning of the word already tells you that the product is for the ubiquitous iPod (or perhaps the iPhone). In any case, we know it is for one of Apple’s products.
And though we have been told time and again that we should never drink and drive, it seems that the temptation is too strong for some people. Hence, the popularity of portable breathalysers. This new breathalyser in the market is no ordinary gadget, though. It has the added attraction of being plugged into your iPod, making it as cool as any breathalyser could ever be.
Dubbed the iBreath, the gadget can be attached to the bottom of the iPod and includes a tube that folds out – that is where you breathe into if you have had a drink or two and you need to get behind the wheel. That’s not all it does, though. The iBreath also doubles as an FM radio – giving you that added feature not available in the iPod. I suppose that the FM radio could justify the price tag of £55, which, in my mind is a bit too steep.
Still, this has not deterred countless consumers in the UK from getting their hands on the iBreath. In fact, it has been reported that the iBreath has become one of the most popular gadgets since its release in the US. I can just see it now…people gathering outside of a pub or a night club in the wee hours of the morning…taking out their iPods with the iBreath and testing their alcohol level…I think I want one for Christmas.
Sony NWZ-S639F Walkman: iPod Nano Killer?
November 25, 2008 by ohsoshiny

There is no denying that Apple has made history with its ubiquitous iPod line of portable mp3 players. Ever since they released the first generation of iPods, people all over the world have been scrambling to get the latest version. Naturally, this gave rise to competition, mp3 players slated to be iPod killers. To date, though, I don’t think that any of them have been able to get one over on Apple. Until now, maybe.
Sony used to be the king of portable music players. Remember the 80s when people carried Walkmans around? The older generation thought that it was stupid, walking around with that small black box and headphones. The iPod changed all that but the Walkman started it all.
Now, Sony has the latest version of the Walkman in the NWZ-S639F. This baby has gone a long way in evolutionary terms. Though it has the same name as its predecessors, the S639F is a whole new product on its own. Visually, it resembles a phone with its sleek metallic looks. It’s 2-inch display is super sharp, with 240 x 320 pixels and it packs 16GB worth of storage.
You can watch videos (H.264 and MPEG-4 SP), listen to music (supported formats: mp3, WMA, AAC, and WAV), and view photos (JPEG). Podcasts are fully supported and even has a dedicated button. The best thing for UK users is that this Walkman has support for BBC iPlayer downloads. For those of us who cannot get by without tuning in to BBC, this feature is a must. It just might make the S639F the iPod Nano killer that some have been waiting for.
By the way, expect to part with £129 to get your hands on this baby.
It’s An iPod! It’s a Bracelet! No, it’s an…

…iPod that also functions as a bracelet! It’s an iBangle. The iBangle is the brain child of Indian designer Gopinath Prasan.
His idea is based on something very simple – build upon the sexiness of the newest iPods while at the same time retain their functionality. In addition to this, he wanted to create something totally different in order to give the iPod that edge that it just might need in the near future.
What does the iBangle have to offer the hordes of Apple fans all over the world? Take a look at that picture (thanks to CNET) and you will see that it takes on a stylishly modern look. Supposed to be made of aluminum, the iBangle has an inside cushion which inflates at a touch of a tiny blue button. This feature allows the bracelet to fit snugly over the wrist of whoever is wearing it.
One drawback to this nifty gadget is the fact that it has no room whatsoever for a visual interface. This is somehow offset by the voice interface feature, which allows the user to hear the tracks when scrolling through the playlists. And to further provide convenience, there are no wires attached to the iBangle. Instead, the earbuds communicate with the device through Bluetooth.
It’s a pretty cool device, isn’t it? It’s just a pity that the iBangle is merely a concept design. That is, there is no real evidence that Apple will ever create one of these babies. I am actually unsure as to how the general public will welcome the iBangle in case it ever becomes a reality. What say you? Would you pay for one?
You share, I share, we all share with miShare!

miShare is a smart little gadget for sharing files and playlists between iPods. No computer or cable is needed, and it’s really easy to use. Just attach the source and target iPods and press miShare’s big button to start the transfer.
A typical song takes ten seconds to transfer once the iPods are attached, depending on the file sizes. A short home video in iPod format could be a half minute. (miShare runs USB 2.0 “Full-Speed,” which is rated at more than one megabyte per second. Our real-world experience is about 500KB/second.)
Hold on…what about copyright?
miShare strictly honors all digital rights management (DRM), including purchases from Apple’s iTunes. miShare does not unlock DRM. Locked DRM files are copied to the disk area of the target iPod, for fresh authorization with a valid password. iTunes purchases can be authorized for multiple computers and iPods.
With the craze of portable music as big as ever, swapping tunes in the school yard could be the next big thing! miShare come in a little pricy at around £60 considering you can do this with a USB and a little trickey. For those that simple want fast quick transfers with their mates though, this is perfect!
You can get the miShare from http://www.iskins.co.uk
