Sometimes a scene is backlit or too dark, or it’s difficult to get a good focus on the subject. Adjusting the settings every time is not only a hassle, it can be very tricky. That’s where iA comes in.
This powerful function senses the shooting conditions and automatically makes the settings and activates functions that will deliver optimal results. With both motion and still images, iA lets you forget about bothersome settings and makes it easy to capture beautiful, well-focused images.
Everyone we know who have tested the HDC-SD10 absolutely love it and so do we.

Camcorders have really developed an impressive selection of features over the last few years and this particular model is no different. Panasonic have made sure to include all the basic feature requirements but at a fraction of the price.
The new Panasonic 70x High Optical Zoom included on the Panasonic SDR-S26 Flash Memory Camcorder brings subjects closer than ever before. It gives you the power you need to take dramatic close-ups or get remarkable shots. But with long-distance zoom shots, even a tiny bit of hand shake has a huge effect on picture quality.
That’s where optical image stabilization comes in. Panasonic’s Advanced O.I.S. shifts a corrective lens as you shoot to help eliminate the effects of hand shake, so you get clear, sharp shots even at high zoom levels.

Pets Eye View Camera
Have you ever wanted to spend a day in the life of a dog (think Tom Hanks in Big, but obviously with a dog)? Not quite there but a good substitute is the Pets Eye View Camera.
It’s a small camera that attaches to your pets collar and lets you see things from their level. Watch them prod around, chase cats, eat sausages, sniff nether regions (not recommended) and spy on their every move. If you have a naughty cat or dog the Pets Eye View Camera is great for catching their antics.
The internal memory can store up to 40 snaps, so you’ll have a whole album’s worth of memories to share with your friends. Best of all, the shots blow up to 6” by 4”, perfect for framing and putting on the mantelpiece. Or even turning into Christmas cards for your family, just as long as your family love the sight of an upturned bin and a dog’s tongue scooping out the last flecks of custard from the packet.
Itss compatible with both PCs and Macs and connects easily by USB lead for downloading, and comes with a rechargeablke battery for convenience.

Digital Camera Underwater Mask – Cheap Underwater Photography

Diving and snorkeling are some of the best kind of sports and recreational activities out there. The ability to participate in a physical activity while at the same time being witness to how beautiful the earth is, is a rare mix that will make a person feel very privileged. Unfortunately, taking pictures of your adventure for posterity can sometimes be a problem. Before, underwater cameras were prohibitively expensive. Only those with really deep pockets can afford to take up underwater photography. The advent of digital cameras has somewhat affected prices positively. But trying to take pictures using a handheld digital camera can be pain sometimes because you will have to swim with your equipment dangling on your hand. Not the most comfortable proposition.
But there’s a great way around this now. The Digital Camera Underwater Mask is a great idea and a wonderful equipment for divers and snorkelers who want to take pictures but also freeing their hands to to do other things.
Available From: Amazon.co.uk and I Want One Of Those.com
The whole idea is very simple – there is a 3.1 megapixel digital camera that has been mounted on to the mask. The whole contraption is so cleverly designed that you won’t even have to worry about how to aim the camera on your forehead. The crosshairs located on the lenses will precisely show where you have to look in other to get the perfect framing. The camera not only shoots images, it can also record videos too. The camera has a 16mb onboard memory but it can be expanded by using a Micro SD card.
THE Lighter For Spies

So you’ve been fantasising about being a spy – you’re not alone! What with the obsession of society with characters like James Bond, it should not be surprising that even the common person has his own dreams about being a sophisticated and well-equipped espionage character. For those of us who are eons away from living this dream, perhaps there are other ways and means by which we can somehow have a similar experience?
Enter the – get ready for this, take a long deep breath – Real Lighter DVR Lighter Camera Hidden Digital Video Recorder Micro Camera. Whew! Say it again? From hereon, for the sake of brevity, let’s refer to the gadget as The Lighter. How’s that?
Anyhow, The Lighter is one heck of a spy tool. It looks like any lighter – it even has a Harley-Davidsonish design with an eagle and the Liberty flame. Don’t be deceived by its looks, though. The Lighter functions as a camera and sound recorder, making it perfect for those spy moments.
Manufactured in Hong Kong, The Lighter can go on recording video and sound for up to 6 hours straight! This may not seem long enough but for simple purposes – such as making sure you know what goes on in the house when you and your spouse go out for dinner – it should do very well. Storage comes in the form of a micro SD card, which you have to purchase separately.

Fujitsu Wraparound Camera For Easy Parking
November 18, 2008 by ohsoshiny

What is the most difficult aspect when it comes to driving? I am willing to bet that a lot of people would probably say the parking part. After all, pulling in or pulling out of a tight spot can be quite a daunting task, especially if you are not that skilled of a driver. Fujitsu seems to have come up with the perfect solution for those who find themselves in tight spots with the first ever wraparound camera.
The wraparound camera is based on a new video processing technology, which provides the motorist with a real time 360 degree-view of his surroundings while inside the automobile. More than simply providing a view, however, the technology adjusts to different situations in order to provide the motorist with the most appropriate point of view and field of view.
I am sure that I am not the first to jump and shout hooray because of this development. Whether they will admit it or not, there are a lot of people who are, let’s say, a bit challenged when it comes to parking. And if you add the complexities of sharp turns and narrow streets, driving can really become taxing, sometimes. I may not have the problem of handling a gigantic Bentley in central London but I sure would appreciate having all the assistance I can get.
So when are we going to be able to get our hands on the wraparound camera? Sorry but no details as of yet. Fujitsu will be unveiling more of the technology this week at the 15th World Congress on Intelligent Transport Systems & ITS America’s 2008 Annual Meeting and Exposition so you might want to stay tuned to that.
Panasonic G1

In August, 2008, Panasonic and Olympus Corp jointly announced the development of a new standard for interchangeable lens cameras, dubbed “Micro Four Thirds.” Over the next month, we shall see the release of the Panasonic G1, due to be unveiled as the first Micro Four Thirds product.
The G1 packs a 12-megapixel Four Thirds Live MOS sensor. This sensor boasts a wide dynamic range and low power consumption, plus Panasonic’s new Venus Engine HD imaging processor, with its superb noise reduction performance and expandability represented by HDMI output capability. Dust entering the body is always a concern with all interchangeable lens cameras, to combat this Panasonic has equipped the G1 with a Supersonic Wave Filter as part of a Dust Reduction System designed to prevent dust and other foreign matter from adhering to the image sensor.
Other excellent features of the DMC-G1 include a 3-inch, 460K dot, free-angle LCD screen and high-resolution 1,440,000-dot equivalent Live View Finder, both of which provide a 100% field of view and Full-time Live View. This is a beautiful screen; it’s big (3 inches) and bright, and reasonably sharp, with 460,000 dots of resolution. There’s also an auto-brightness option that will brighten the screen by as much as 40% when you’re in bright light. Any LCD can be hard to view in sunlight, but the G1’s brightness boost does help a little.
A clever built-in eye sensor automatically switches on the viewfinder when the user looks into it, then switches it off and turns on the 3.0-inch LCD when the user looks away from the viewfinder, genius! No more fumbling around for buttons in the dark trying to set the LCD on!
The Panasonic G1 accepts not only Micro Four Thirds System interchangeable lenses, but also conventional Four Thirds System lenses when an optional adapter is mounted. This makes it a great choice for beginners as they can use emerging technology but can also maybe pick up a cheap second hand SLR lenses and use the adapter to mount it. Experienced pros can do the same with their existing lenses making the Panasonic G1 a seemingly good choice for both!
The Panasonic Lumix DMC-G1 will be available from November 1st for £599
Flip Mino

The newest member of the Flip Video Limited family is the Flip Mino. Like its predecessor the Mino captures great video in 640*480 resolution, more than enough to capture those hilarious weekend antics or the latest cute thing your(in no particular order) cat, dog or child does!
The Mino comes with 2GB of memory as standard, however unlike the Flip Video, it has no 1GB version available.
The most obvious change to the new Mino is its size. The designers have shaved around 40% of the size and weight of the Flip. The previous version, the Flip Ultra, in my opinion was a little big, larger than most mobile phones and such didn’t make for a real contender to be carried around in your pocket. The Mino however, comes in at around the same size as my SE K800i, much lighter and still packs the same great features of previous versions.
The second great addition is the lithium-ion battery. This makes the Flip now fully self contained. No more running out of batteries when away from home/on holiday. Just find a PC, plug in and charge up.
You will get approximately 4 hours of use between charges. Compare this with the 2 hours (from cheap Alkaline) and 5 hours (from Energizer(R) e2(R) Lithium) it’s fair to say that for the sake of sacrificing 1 hour, you now no longer have to buy batteries, which is a good thing…and good for the environment too, which is important for some people.
The new design is slick and sexy, with touch sensitive capacitive buttons which are now backlit for use in the dark low light. The compression engine has been updated; to shrink more videos into less space, so you can shoot, shoot, shoot till your heart’s content!
Another software update now allows for uploading to MySpace (if anyone is still using it) along with YouTube or AOL as in previous versions. The self contained software is a little clunky, crashing on my first attempt and slowly getting there on the second. Once loaded up however I found it easy to use and liked the idea that no matter what PC you are using it on, you will always have your editing suite, right there in your pocket, along with your videos.
Flip Video Limited have announced ‘Now playing: You™’, you can now design you own Mino cover, making your Mino completely customizable. The online store at www.flipvideo.co.uk allows you to choose from hundreds of designs like Tribal Inkblot, Weezer W, Sunflower II and many more. You can also create your own design using the pattern generator or upload your own image to create a completely custom design. This added feature adds nothing to the price which is remarkable in its self. Now you can not only express yourself by what you video, but also what you video with!
I liked the Flip Mino, its small, light and takes great video with good sound.
Available now from all good gadget stores, including Amazon.co.uk for £113.93
