Eye-Fi releases 4GB version plus video

The makers of Eye-Fi (the world’s first auto uploading SD card) has doubled its storage capacity from the standard 2GB to 4GB. One thing to really rave about is that they have added in support to transfer videos from your SD-loaded digital cameras to your regular wifi device (laptop or PC).
It is called “Eye-Fi Share Video and Eye-Fi Explore Video” and aside from uploading to your local area network device, it still has the capability to upload to two of world’s biggest photo/video site YouTube & Flickr.
Ok… am I being a little too fast (?) let me back up a bit to introduce you to what an Eye-Fi is. An Eye-Fi is just like any regular SD memory card you use with your digital cameras. When you take photos, it will save it into the Eye-Fi card. The only difference between an Eye-Fi SD card and a regular SD card is that when an Eye-Fi SD card is within a known or public wifi hotspot, it can have the capability of automatically uploading the just-taken photos to a PC, a laptop, or the internet websites such as Google’s Picasa, Flickr, Youtube, Kodak, and others.
Now let’s move on. The first generation Eye-Fi cards a was only capable of transferring and working on pictures. The new Eye-Fis is now capable of transferring videos too. Awesome development.
