New Twitter Phones – INQ Chat and INQ Mini

If you own and INQ1 mobile phone already then my heart goes out to you, as all the talk is about the new school varieties: the INQ Chat and the INQ Mini that are due to be released just in time for Christmas.
The original INQ1 social media phone is still pretty good, but one major flaw is that it doesn’t come loaded with Twitter, whilst the two new phones will….to top it off, the INQ1 will never have Twitter either.
Twitter is the major thing in common between the INQ Chat and the INQ Mini phones, but they are still sufficiently different to interest different users. As expected, the handsets now offer everyone’s favourite social networking tool of the moment along with those other staples of the previous INQ1 – Facebook, Skype and instant messaging. A great concoction for the web 2.0 generation. We have heard that the onboard Twitter app is always on after your first login meaning that every new Tweet is published on your home screen.
Specifically, the INQ Chat was developed in response to ‘consumer and operator demand’ for a QWERTY-style keypad device from INQ, offering a new email client that incorporates free push Gmail, along with an active address book showing ‘live status’ from all your contacts, letting you choose how to contact them. There’s also a built-in plug and play HSDPA modem, 2.4-inch QVGA TFT landscape display, 3.2-megapixel auto focus camera, GPS and up to 4GB of storage. The INQ Mini is a more slimline affair, packing in all those networking essentials, along with access to standard ‘IMAP’ email services like Hotmail and again offering that HSDPA modem option and up to 4GB of storage, along with a 2.2-inch QVGA TFT landscape display and a 2-megapixel snapper for a price that’s likely to be as small as the handset.
Detailed information on entry prices haven’t been released but since INQ take pride in producing affordable mobiles you can be sure that these won’t cost the earth.
