Pret A Manger to offer real free WiFi

Coffee shops are the new century equivalent of the medieval tavern. It’s a place where people go to relax, unwind, engage in chit-chat, and gather news and information. These establishments have become so ubiquitous that you can practically find one in every street corner — literally.
One of the coffee shops that have been sprouting all over the UK is Pret A Manger. With the glut of coffee shops, it’s understandable to think that Pret A Manger has an uphill battle competing with other establishments.
But it has one trick up its sleeve that may just push it to the top of the heap — free WiFi.
Yes, Pret A Manger (http://www.pret.com/) now offers free WiFi access to its customers. But what makes them different from other shops that also offer free WiFi is that they do not an hourly charge, any kind of time restriction or, get this, any obligation to buy any product inside the shop.
Pret A Manger tested its service for a number of months and upon its successful test has signed up with The Cloud for a five year deal for WiFi service.
About 170 of the store’s 190 outlets will now offer this wonderful and true free service. According to Pret A Manger executives the test that was conducted showed that people never took advantage of the service. Pret A Manger’s brave step could be a precedent for other establishments to follow suit. Expect this to be the first tentative steps towards a true free WiFi service all over the country.

That’s awesome news! I love Pret a Manger and started going to other alternatives due to the fact that they didn’t have any free wifi. Now I’ve found myself a new home away from home, thanks for letting us know!
