Walk to play in this new DS game

I admit it.
I am hugely overweight.
I was quite the strapping lad during my younger years. I took care of myself because, let’s face it, that’s one of the best ways to attract the ladies. And I got my fair share of them. But marriage and kids makes you reorient your priorities. The daily workouts at the gym and the regular jogs give way to family night outs and taking care of the kids. Before I knew it I was way over my ideal weight.
The health issues have started piling on so I have tried to squeeze in regular exercise to my parental and husbandly duties. So far I’ve already lost some weight but I’m a long ways to go to reach my original lean body.
Being the gamer that I am, I welcomed Nintendo’s Wii Fit. It’s a great opportunity to play games AND lose weight. It has become a daily routine to bring out my Wii Fit Board and have a go at Boxing and Advanced Step.
Now I can add the Nintendo DS to my daily fitness routine. The blokes at Nintendo (http://www.nintendo.co.uk/) as released the Walk With Me fitness game. This new game encourages people to walk and do outdoor activities. The game is bundled with two tiny pedometres that Nintendo has cleverly dubbed Activity Metres. Players are encouraged to bring this metre with them everywhere. The metres then measure your physical activity and after a week you can transfer the collected information to the Nintendo DS through the wireless connection.
The level of activity downloaded is then used to unlock various mini games. For example, in Walk The World, players get to unlock various geography trivia everytime a set number of steps are achieved. With each Activity Metre capable of storing data for four different users, this could become the next big family activity.
No price has been set as of yet for the game but expect it to be available in stores across Europe by February 20th next year.

I thought I am the only person who uses Nintendo Wii to lose weight. As for me, it is better to lose your weight playing the game than working out in a gym. Of course some people might think that this is a bad idea however I see positive changes and I will continue this “fitness” exercises.
