The X-Ray 70’s LED Wrist Watch
The X-Ray: an authentic 70’s style reproduction LED wrist watch inspired by the greatest digital watches of the 70’s. What will they think of next?
More specialist watches from Japan seem to be a hit with Internet shoppers and gadget fans. This new X-Ray time piece strikes a happy medium between obscure, hard to read and interesting displays.
Currently sold as a Limited Edition – Collectors Classic Model, the X-Ray sports a comfortable stainless steel wrist strap design that houses a large dark red display.
The red time display is lit up using a genuine LED digital module. Most of the time the watch sits in standby mode, with no display. With the press of buttons you are treated to numbers which illuminate brightly showing the instantly recognisable sharp red retro 70’s time or date display.
This newly manufactured LED module offers greatly improved battery life compared to old type 70’s modules, in normal use batteries last approx 12 months.
The watch provides both date and time displays via the function buttons. Something I found lacking on the TokyoFlash watches.
The back of the watch has a nice touch with engraved servicing contact details in the form of an email address. Something I’ve not seen on a watch before!
Strap adjustment requires a jewellers screwdriver, so a bit of a fiddle – but not unusual.
If you’re looking to get a watch as a gift, the X-Ray comes in an attractive sci-fi style tin box with etched logo. Inside you’ll find some full-colour instructions printed on high quality credit card shaped card.
The X-Ray by Connect is available now from The LED Watch store for £59.99.

Retro is cool…but how about a LIGHTMARE? Dont let the name fool you…..even with crazy display…it is actually easy to read and a dream to wear.

Hmm this one reminds me alot of the old commadore franchised watch-it wasnt retro when it was released but it looks very similar- this one is great too! I would give this retro watch> a 7.5 out of 10, especially love the 80s calculator type glow font.
