Nonsense. It would be too much “revolution” in one package. Nitendo has some bad memories also , remeber virtual boy ;) . Maybe next time.

  2. mike says:

And the VR headset only cost $800. Where is your proof./?

  3. kjjx says:

This has already been confirmed not to be the case. It’s fake, and old at that.

  4. Tom Brusky says:

This rumor, regarding the possible use of eMagin OLED-based headset with the Nintento Revolution, has largely been disbunked. Many articles now suggest that these rumors are largely false. The only shred of truth is that eMagin confirms that Nintendo purchased a number of their headsets, but we don’t what purpose they will serve. Its highly unlikely they will be used with Nintendo’s new console because of the extremely high cost of the peripheral.

  5. Budda says:

It may not be the actual hardware from eMagin that is used in the end, but the same design “dumbed down” to keep it affordable for gamers.

  6. Revfan9 says:

This was proven false months ago, why all the lies? This is the second time I have seen this rumor come up today.

sign the petition and join the fight. Let SEGA know how much we want them back.

  8. bob says:

its also possible that Nintendo purchased the units in order to support the units. not as neccessary, but just allow 3rd parties to support the headset as optional.
not neccessary. look at sound options, you have mono, stereo and surround options. now some games may have tv/3-d headset options.
as standard I don’t think so, as supported yes, and I think the revolution is best placed of all the consoles for this technology. I can imagine a Gladiator inspired game going quite well, or general war games, fully capturing the need to be aware of the surrounding environment

  9. cubeboy101 says:

If that’s a hoax, someone has a LOT of spare time on their hands. And some extremely advanced equipment. And where do you just pick up an NES advert from the 80s? (It’s in the background near the start.) It’s not like they sell them on Amazon…

Nintendo took out a patent for a device that scanned the environment, remember. Nintendo also took out the domain “nintendofloorvision”. Miyamoto also said he wanted games to escape the confines of the TV — then clammed up and refused to go on. No HDTV support — not surprising if you’re not using a TV, no?

To be honest, I anticipated this because it’s in line with Nintendo’s strategy. They have revolutionised the way we input to a console — the controller — the logical other half of the job is to revolutionise the way it outputs to us — traditionally the TV. If the Revo is already tracking the 3D movement of the controller at a low cost then doing so for a headset as well isn’t going to be a problem.

The only slight problem I see with this story is that Nintendo have gone to great lengths to make the controller something familiar that people won’t be scared of. The headset, however, is pretty alien…

Oh — and Nintendo denying rumours? Like they denied Zelda would support the Revo controller? Like they denied they were making a DS lite? Hmm….

  12. NASGUSTO says:

if am not mistaken u can buy a head set for current consoles for about £200 no tilt control just tv glasses. A VR headset is possible but the cost will be high i think. Maybe i only heard this in a dream but i heard the revolution stand may acted like a battery pack and nintendo seem to think portability is the future. They tryed with the gamecube but it lacked direction. the rev is even smaller which makes it more portable and also cost less to make and ship. for space is money. the biggest flew in nintendos plan is how scared people are of change. i think the ds will be the second screen. making the rev portable. nintendo have been trying to make their home consoles and portable consoles interface better for years maybe they have cracked it. That is the revolution my comrades.

  13. markus says:

The 3DVisor from Emagin is SVGA at 800 x 600 pixels.

This format is incompatible with the resolution format of the Revolution ?

In itself, this would suggest the rumours are false.

That’s over 6 minutes of material that would be REALLY DIFFICULT to put together as a hoax.

I’m not saying I’m 100% convinced, but there’s footage of a new 3D Mario game in there, using a new 3D mario character, fully animated. You don’t put that sort of thing together over night.

Also, the price thing isn’t a problem. DS lite includes two high quality LCD screens (one of which is also touch sensitive) at a low cost. The Revo includes motion tracking of the controller at a low price. Those are the only two things you need — the VR headset is essentially a DS lite in front of your eyes, and a Revo controller strapped to your head. Tilt your head, pictures move, it’s as simple as that. No high cost.

Other company’s similar products cost a lot because they have a small market and no economies of scale. The actual hardware doesn’t cost that much. A mass-produced product like Revolution would be much cheaper.

And I’m not sure Nintendo have announced details like screen resolution, have they? There’s nothing to say it couldn’t support different resolutions for different visual outputs…

  16. Nintendo DS, latest, best, new, games shop, online, price, online games, latest, action, racing,

Game consoles not only attract kids but also adults. Kids enjoy playing game consoles which is popularly called ‘video games’ or ‘computer games’. These consoles are exclusively designed for fun and entertainment. With the help of controller, butto…

  17. It is really fun to have the game consoles, especially when playing the 3D mario game. Young or adults will surely enjoy and well entertained. And it is not merely fake or something, it is just that some proves it to be true and really enjoyable.
