Logitech have announced a new Wireless DJ Music System which will allow users to stream and control PC audio wirelessly throughout the home using Logitechâs StreamPoint software.
The device is compatible with all PC audio formats, including MP3, AAC, WMA, etc. and the StreamPoint software aggregates audio files, playlists, and internet radio stations from iTunes, Windows Media Player, and MusicMatch Jukebox, to create a unified music library.
The system doesnât require an existing wifi network, instead it uses Extended Data Rate Bluetooth to let your PC, the fancy remote and the receiver talk. A transmitter is plugged into the PCâs USB port, while the Music Receiver/Dock is connected to the stereo system or to multimedia speakers.
It will cost £180 and will be available in late September 2006. There will also be an add-on receiver for $79 that permits the addition of three more rooms.
