600k Wii’ers in first 8 days

600,000 Wii consoles have been sold in the first 8 days since being launched in North America according to Nintendo.
This is 3 times more than the 200,000 Playstation 3 consoles that Sony are thought to have sold in the US; Sony has not revealed officially though how many PlayStation 3 consoles it has sold as yet.
Microsoft has shipped more than 6 million of its Xbox 360s since launching a year ago in November 2005.
The UK launch is not until December the 8th but a lot of UK suppliers have said they won’t be able to honour launch or even Christmas delivery. A quick search on eBay shows the Wii is going for around $350 currently in the US.
What are you doing for Christmas then: sticking with/buying a 360, hoping to grab a Wii or holding on a few months for the PS3?
