With the Rubik’s Cube, that dinosaur from the 1970s, making a comeback among kids and adults alike in the last couple of years, it looks like this trend is showing that people may be experiencing some kind of technological fatigue and are looking for non-high tech ways of passing away their time and entertaining themselves.
If you’re one of those people who want something a little low-tech but still insanely entertaining to keep your hands and brain occupied then consider getting the NeoCube Alpha.

Sony PSP Go – The Ultimate Review
July 30, 2009 by admin
Filed under Consoles and Video Gaming, Handhelds
A couple of things are obviously different. The Sony PSP Go is quite a bit smaller that the original PSP and the UMD drive has gone (phew!) and fortunately replaced by 16GB worth of inbuilt storage and a card slot. The Go has snazzy (yet smaller) 3.8 inch screen which slides up to reveal the D-pad, analogue stick and buttons.
Regular PSP users of the past will have cottoned on to the decision to go with storage rather than UMD but we are more interested in the improved online access to rival some of the other portable media devices out there.

Sony had really cool plans for the Playstation Portable (PSP) and one of these nifty plans that aimed to showcase the PSP’s power and versatility was the Go! Messenger Service that it unveiled in Europe.

A number of Sky HD boxes are defective

Sky has been heavily promoting its HD service to the public. It’s not a big surprise really because of the big initial investment of shifting to HD. It needs all the help it can get to make subscribers turn to HD in order to recoup its investment. Sky has even implemented a drop in its price just to bring in more clients. That’s why bad news coming in at this time could really hurt the company.

Kindle 2.0 is Lighter, Brighter and Chattier
Kindle 1.0 was rumored to have sold at least half a million units in 2008. When Oprah Winfrey gave her golden endorsement, Kindle played a major role in bringing people to the good habit of reading. And who wouldn’t try to grab an e-book these days with a great gadget to read it with. At .36 inches (almost as thick as a child’s pencil), the Kindle 2.0 is thinner than the thinnest mobile phone. Weighs 10.2 ounces, and the edges doesn’t taper as sharply as before. Perfect, not too bulky, for men’s briefcases or the lady’s handbag.
Learn guitar through lasers

I’ve been a big fan of the Rock Band and Guitar Hero games ever since they were released a year or so ago. I think it’s one of the most addictive genres in games today because it’s one of those “easy to learn, hard to master” game types. You’ll really want to pick up the guitar (and also the equally addictive drum kit) and imagine that you’re a rock god.
The ease of use of those plastic guitars will also make you wish that learning to play an actual guitar will be as easy. But it looks like current technologies has made that wish a reality – and it uses lasers.

I’ve been a big e-book reader fan ever since I installed a handy e-book reader application on my trusty Nokia E61i. I experienced first hand how practical it is to bring your favourite books in an electronic format. It lessens the bulk on your bag, you don’t have to worry about misplacing your book, getting it wet or spilling something in it. You don’t even have to worry about propping it on something while reading at your favourite cafe. And you can bring more than one book if you want.

As a gadget lover I find myself also encouraging and tolerating my son’s growing fascination for electronics and other types of gadgetry. Even at a young age (he’s four years old) he’s already quite an established gadget head. He has a Nintendo DS Lite, a Playstation Portable, a Leapster and a cheap learning computer. He has also inherited my old AcER laptop. You’d think that for a four year old it would be enough but right now we’re both quite excited about the new gadget from V-Tech (http://www.vtechuk.com).
Sony, Arsenal to bring replay TV during game day
I’ve always said that the Playstation Portable (http://uk.playstation.com/) is one powerful and under utilised piece of electronics hardware. It’s true that the Nintendo DS has outsold the PSP all over the world and that the former’s game library is soooo huge that it will bring the PSPs game library to shame. But then the PSP is a complete personal entertainment device. Not only can you play games with superb graphics, you can also watch movies in widescreen format, listen to music, browse through your favourite photos and even surf the internet.

I love playing my favorite songs inside my car. After braving through college commuting everyday and being forced to the whole spectrum of bad music that drifts to your ears during the long ride to and from school, I vowed to myself that once I get my first car I’ll play all the songs that I love with total abandon. And that was what I precisely did. I have come to associate driving with playing the best music I can find. Of course, I do this with a constant regard for driver and pedestrian safety.

Prolific gamers have been complaining that games of late are getting easier (I’m not one of them). But here’s a good deal. The Vudu set-top box, that usually sells for £202.42 (quite expensive), has now been reduced to just £67. Of course, the caveat is that you are going to have to pay £34 as equivalent movie credits.

I was quite the strapping lad during my younger years. I took care of myself because, let’s face it, that’s one of the best ways to attract the ladies. And I got my fair share of them. But marriage and kids makes you reorient your priorities. The daily workouts at the gym and the regular jogs give way to family night outs and taking care of the kids. Before I knew it I was way over my ideal weight.
