Apple black Friday – Not much discount over VAT drop

So Apple’s recession busting Black Friday is happening today, but it seems on average they have dropped the prices about 4%. Given that VAT is dropping by 2.5% on Monday next week this really isn’t that great a deal..
A 20″ iMac is down from £799 to £768, a “whopping” £31 // 4% off. Most items are the same with a few percent off here and there, on Monday presumably most of the products won’t be far off this anyway so it does seem a little bit of a con.
On the plus side accessories have upto 15% off although they are always more expensive from Apple than anywhere else, the macbook Pro has 6% off (just over £60)
It’s just a shame that Apple couldn’t do more here. With spending at a low due to the credit crunch it would have been perfect timing, the payday before Christmas for most people.
The tagline for the event is “1 day not to miss” which seems a little ironic
