Panasonic flogs a dead horse with a paperless fax machine

panasonic_fax-560x220.jpg

Some companies and manufacturers are, to my mind, still stuck to a time a few years back. These are the companies that keep insisting that old technologies can be given a new lease on life if it is just revamped, tweaked or improved. Of course, this is a whole hit and miss affair. There are those that get totally popular and make us rethink the importance of this piece of electronic equipment today. There are those that find a niche with a dedicated few who extol its virtues over other solutions.

Twitts from your washing machine

washingmachine.jpg

Okay, I think this is funny. I could just imagine my wash load twittering me that it's done. Why would it do it that way when it could just buzz crazy like all normal washing machines, ah, I do not know. But the concept is your wash will twit when it's done, so let's work with that for a while.

USB Hidden Flash Drive Watch

USBwatch.jpg

See that little tab coming out from behind the watch's dial? That's a 4GB SD Card neatly tucked behind the watch. Oh it's part of the watch's design, it actually has a slot where this SD card can easily go in.

Now what is it for, you may say. Well for various reasons you just might need a 4GB flash drive. Copying a huge file such as audio, video and graphics projects... not a problem. If you forget to bring your regular memory stick, check the time(!) and save that project... legally of course!

Charge your devices without using a charger or taking out the batteries

PowerMat.jpg

You may have noticed that I have been constantly talking about power options for our beloved gadgets. The reason behind this is quite simple – I have been steadily amassing a number of gadgets for both my personal and office use and at the same time I have been getting a growing number of battery powered toys and gizmos for my son. It has come to a point that finding batteries and other power alternatives has driven me to really look for a good solution to this “power problem.”

Get ready for the phone watch

lgs 3g touch water phone2.jpg

A few years ago, I read a news article about concept mobile phones that may become commercially available in a decade or so. I don’t remember if it was Nokia who came out with the said concept phone but I do remember being quite excited by their fantastical idea. The concept phone was actually just small rings that you put on your thump and pinky finger. Using those two fingers, mimic talking on the phone and you get the general idea of the kind of miniaturised electronics that was being thought up.

iPhone 3G can now be unlocked

12-31-08-iphone3gunlock.jpg

The inevitable has finally happened.

The iPhone 3G has been officially hacked. For months now people who want to use the iPhone 3G without the services of the official Apple distributors for the god phone had to content themselves with “jailbreaking” the phone. In the world of hacking, a jailbreak is a means of exploiting a security flaw or bug in the system that will allow the previously unhacked system to provide more privileges to the user.

Flipbac for 3" LCD Cameras

flipbac400x281.jpg

This is sooooo cooool.... now how many of us get frustrated using our digicams while taking angle shots that doesn't allow us to see the LCD screen fully? I know, I'm one of them. There are times when I need to take shots of a subject and just pray I got him right dead center... I take a few shots more to make sure.

That's why I love this invention. Flipbac is a camera attachment that snaps easily to most cameras that have a 3" LCD screen. Check out these features:

- Easy low angle or ground level shooting.

The Canine Treadmill

canine-treadmill_ch2hl_52.jpg

Can't help but beam a wide smile when I saw this picture. Quite humoring to see this dog trying on a treadmill! But when you live in a cold cold place, it does make sense to provide one of these gadgets to your canine loved ones. They need the exercise, and with winter periods hitting even below zero degrees you don't need to catch a cold to get them working and healthy.

The Canine Treadmill can be purchased online right here for about £380.

"Orb" up your room with these iPod speakers

mstation-orb.jpg

If there’s one thing I can say about the Apple design aesthetic is that whenever they come out with anything – be it a computer, laptop, or personal entertainment device – you get the insane longing to buy one for yourself the moment you lay your eyes on it. The “must-have” quality of these Apple products can really hurt your wallet if you are not too careful.
